A tribute to George Orwell's 1984 and a cry of protest against totalitarianism of all kinds, Sansal's 2084 tells the story of a near future in which religious extremists have established an oppressive caliphate where autonomus thought is forbidden. It is the year 2084. In the kingdom of Abistan—named after the prophet Abi, earthly messenger of the god Yolah—citizens submit to a single god, demonstrating their devotion by kneeling in prayer nine times a day. Autonomous thought has been banned, remembering is forbidden, and an omnipresent surveillance system instantly informs the authorities of every deviant act, thought, or idea. The kingdom is blessed and its citizens are happy, filled with a sense of purpose and piety. Those who are not—the heretics—are put to death by stoning or beheading in city squares. But Ati has met people who think differently; in ghettos and caves, hidden from the authorities, exist the last living heretics and free-thinkers of Abistan. Under their influence, Ati begins to doubt. He begins to think. Now, he will have to defend his thoughts with his life. "[In 2084] Sansal dared to go much further than I did," said Michel Houellebecq, the controversial novelist most recently of Submission. 2084 is a cry of freedom, a call to rebellion, a gripping satirical novel of ideas, and an indictment of the religious fundamentalism that, with its hypocrisy and closed-mindedness, threatens our modern democracies and the ideals on which they are founded. The book is a modern version of George Orwell's novel "1984 projected 100 years into the future. It was originally intended to be a sequel to the authors first book but soon developed into a science fiction novel. A worldwide "planetary system of government has come to power to assure that deviant forms of terrorism no longer exist. Emphasizing strict adherence to governing council regulations prohibiting citizen dissent, it soon becomes a militaristic, totalitarian society requiring dedication to the "common good" with little respect for individual rights. Although mankind has established colonies on the moon and the planet Mars, society is still coping with what appears to be the eternal struggle for freedom. It takes the rugged pioneering spirit of the inhabitants of Mars to incite a revolution that will eventually result in the reemergence of original democratic ideals.

Click this link to read a review of Modernity and the Muslim World. Modernity and the Muslim World consists of fourteen essays which describe the glorious period of Muslim science in the Middle Ages and its subsequent and rapid decline. Some of the causes of its decline are underlined. The intent is not to disparage religion, which seems to have held back the development of science in the Muslim world. It is rather to encourage open-mindedness and to promote the relinquishing of defensiveness in religion in which most of the Muslim world appears to indulge freely and without any reserve.

2084—When God Blessed America Again is a gripping story of a man and a woman who grew up under the iron fist of Islamic law in the United States of Islam, formerly known as the United States of America. By sheer force of will and population redistribution, the Islamic faith has now become the controlling force that dominates approximately 80 percent of the world’s populations. James and Gwen, the two main characters, are raised in separate parts of the country. Each suffer through horrible family events brought on by the oppressive society, and each has sworn revenge! By totally separate circumstances, they find themselves in Alaska, one of the few areas of the globe that a person can live in “relative” freedom. They eventually find each other in the wilderness along with a group of people who also cherish the idea of freedom. 2084 is filled with intrigue, war, and romance. Not a book for the weak of heart!

An anarchist revolution story again, this time 37,000 words of excitement. I make it a general policy that all anarchist content is completly free for the viewer. I'd also like to mention that I'm a peaceful person and never commit myself to a revolution unless there really was a dystopian state that didn't allow freedom of speech. I therefore present you this revolutionary book that clarifies how I'd see an anarchists society work in reality through this novel. Enjoy it, I put my heart and soul into this one.

"2084, don't be scared be prepared" is written after 2084 by Simon, a young man born in 2064. It is based on the tales he heard over his teenage years from the Old Man and the Wise from his village, describing the world as it was before and after the Economic Implosion and its socio-political consequences that triggered a sequence of human behaviors that wrote the worst pages of human history. He promised the Old Man on his deathbed that he would write all down for the future generations. The times he heard of and writes about are when greed and the cult of Consumerism had taken over the whole world like the worst weed spreads and kills off all other plants, then the "Civilization of Capital" imploded and all hell broke loose. Through a choice of stories and anecdotal points of the second half of the 20th and the beginning of the 21st century, "2084" takes us through a period of time when any political ideology was superseded by greed, where sociological values of respect, education, good character and decency were overtaken by the cult of appearance, the eagerness to be defined by what you have rather than what you are and do. The economic implosion of the world brings out an escalation in the worst of human behaviors, as the only goal is to survive by all means. Casualties amount to seventy-five percent of the planet's human population. Happily--or so to speak--in the end, when things cannot possibly get any worse, the positive side of human intelligence takes over and the World gets together for a complete re-start, as if all the events described were just like hitting a big "reset" button"--Page 224.
